Pike County BOE Approves Payroll and Travel Requests – The Troy Messenger

The Pike County School Board met on Monday evening to deal with new business, including the approval of the November financial statements and the payment of wages for the month.

In other cases:

• The Board of Directors approved Lisa Powell’s travel requests to travel to and attend the Alabama Music Educators’ Conference in Birmingham, Jan. 20-22. Funding will come from general funds from local schools.

• In other business, the board has approved travel requests for Lisa Powell l to travel to and attend the Alabama Music Educators’ Conference in Birmingham, Jan. 20-22. Funding will come from general funds from local schools.

• Approved the financial statements for the month of November 2021.

• Approved the request for Lisa Powell to attend and attend the Alabama Music Educator Conference in Birmingham January 20-22. Funding will come from general funds from local schools.

• The board approved plans for Dr. Donnella Carter to attend and attend the Alabama Association of School Personnel Administrators’ annual winter conference in Montgomery in January. 26-28. Funding will come from general funds.

• Approval has also been given for Natalie Mims will be visiting and attending the Assistant Directors’ Conference at Point Clear, January 26-27. Funding will come from general funds from local schools.

In personnel actions, the board:

• Accepted the resignation of Erika Jones, Child Nutrition Program Officer, Banks, effective November 2021.

• Accepted the resignation of Katie Miller, third grade, Goshen Elementary School, effective December 17, 2021.

• Approved the application to hire James Middleton, bus driver. Retroactive to November 2, 2021

• Approved the application to hire bus driver Ray Dansby. Retroactive to November 2, 2021.

• Approved long-term replacement Rosalynd Pollard, Pike County Elementary School for the remainder of the school year.

• Approved the application to hire Crystal Hawkins, third grade teacher, Goshen Elementary School.

• Approved the application to hire Libira Wallace, third grade teacher, Goshen Elementary School.

• Approved previously approved long-term submarine, Malon Chysson to social science professor, Banks.

• Approved Previously Endorsed by Ashley Skinner Long Term Underwater Teacher SPED Goshen High School

• Courtney Bloxham has been approved, previously approved, to continue as a long term alternate for the second term, Math, Goshen High School.

• Request approved to rehire Frank Cole, temporary part-time welding instructor. (Subsidy for the training program for trades in the construction industry).

• Application approved to hire Christopher Murphy, temporary part-time welding lab assistant. (Subsidy for the training program for trades in the construction industry).

• Application approved for Elliot Carter’s volunteer status, men’s basketball, Pike County High School.

• All new hires are dependent on certification or a verified path to certification and background checks. Approved the financial statements for the month of November 2021.
